Info Night Romania Student Exchange

Can you be a positive youth ambassador for your family, the City of Anacortes and the ASCA?  You do not have to be an A student and all students from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.  Each student’s family is responsible for all travel costs, however there will be group fundraising opportunities to reduce the costs.  The fundraising activities also serve as a way for the Anacortes students to get to know each other before they travel together to Romania.

This is the first exchange program between Comarnic, Romania and Anacortes, USA.  During the 1.5-year long program, students will learn about Romanian culture and language.  There will be field trips and local meetings to get to know your fellow students and chaperones.  Fundraising starts Spring 2024 and will continue through summer 2025.  The more the group fundraises, the less they pay for the trip.  Late July/early August 2025, you will visit Romania for 10 to 14 days including being home-stayed in Comarnic.

*Currently, we are planning a visit for Comarnic, Romania students to visit Anacortes in June/July 2025. Anacortes students and families interested in the program MUST be willing and able to host an exchange student from Romania.*

Step 2: Complete this Event Registration.

Step 3: Attend meeting for more information.

Step 4: Complete Application and submit along with 2023-2024 report card and reference letter (Applications will be available at info night or by email).

Step 5: Submit applications by March 8th.

Step 5: ASCA will review applications.

Step 6: Parent/Guardian of student candidate will be contacted for interview shortly after Spring.
